Its
official…It’s not summer anymore. Thanksgiving is only a few days away,
windswept flurries dominate the air, and the temperature being above 50
degrees is a miracle. Summer is a faint memory, reminisced about while
trudging through gusts and weighed down in layers. But the colder
weather isn’t too bad. One thing I always look forward to is wrapping my
frost-bitten hands around a piping hot cup of hot chocolate. Here’s a
recipe for a different kind of hot chocolate you’re sure to love!
Hot Chocolate
(Serves about 4)
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup eSutras Organics Special Dark Chocolate Chunks, grated
- 1 tablespoon eSutras Organics Pure Organic Raw Cane Juice Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon eSutras Organics Ground Cinnamon Bark Powder
- 1 egg
- Marshmallows (optional)
1. Put
milk into medium sized saucepan container and sauté for about 3 minutes
or until hot. Mix in chocolate, sugar, and cinnamon.
2. In a small bowl, whisk an egg until smooth, and then mix it into the chocolate mixture.
3. Continue cooking in saucepan for 3 to 4 minutes or until foamy (be careful not to let it boil.) Whisk until smooth.
4. Strain the mixture through a strainer to get rid of any extra egg particles.
5. Pour into 4 mugs. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or marshmallows if desired.
The
eggs give the hot chocolate a richer taste! Try drinking the delicious
concoction in one of our adorable eSutras Organics mugs. Perfect for hot
chocolate, tea, or any other hot drinks!
